Who We Are

Donna Northcott is the Founder and Artistic Director of St. Louis Shakespeare and Magic Smoking Monkey Theatre. She works as a standardized patient actress for Washington University Medical School and recently retired from Lindenwood University, where she taught acting and costume design and designed costumes for university productions.

Donna received her MA in Theatre from Northwestern University and studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She has directed more than 100 productions and has worked as an actor, voiceover actor, acting coach, and costume designer. She also directed the award-winning independent film Hooch and Daddy-O.

For St. Louis Shakespeare, Donna oversees the company’s creative direction, plans each season, and works with the Technical Director to secure performance venues. She frequently directs productions and collaborates with guest directors to ensure the company’s consistently high quality.

Ethan Dudenhoeffer is the Technical Director of St. Louis Shakespeare and a full-time Technical Director at a local high school. He is a graduate of Lindenwood University’s Technical Theatre Program.

For St. Louis Shakespeare, Ethan selects the technical design and crew members for each production and works with the Artistic Director to secure performance venues.

Kay Love began her career as a staff auditor with Mercantile Bank, now U.S. Bank, in 1983. She joined Allegiant Bank, now PNC Bank, in 1992 and was appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In 1998, Kay joined TIAA-CREF Trust Company, FSB as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer, where she played a key role in creating the Trust Company’s financial infrastructure.

Kay received an MBA from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a BBA in Accounting from Texas Christian University. She is a former instructor for the American Institute of Banking, is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt, and was named one of St. Louis’ most influential businesswomen by the St. Louis Business Journal in 2008.

For St. Louis Shakespeare, Kay is responsible for financial recordkeeping and reporting.

Kathy Doerr is a retired IT Administrator for the City of St. Louis. During her 48-year career, she served under seven St. Louis mayors, including two years on Mayor Francis Slay’s cabinet.

Kathy volunteers as a math tutor, substitute teacher, robotics coach, church musician, and cook in a homeless kitchen. She also serves on the board of KTK Productions.

Kathy founded Bard in a Box and continues to serve St. Louis Shakespeare as a multi-tasking volunteer.

Stan Davis has worked in web design and development since 1995. For St. Louis Shakespeare, he maintains the company’s websites and has contributed to its show posters and visual materials for more than a decade.

He has also occasionally wandered onto the other side of the curtain, appearing in several Magic Smoking Monkey Theatre productions.
