What We Do
We Make Shakespeare approachable, active, and alive.
Shakespeare was meant to be seen and heard.
Bard in a Box brings the tools of live theatre directly to schools and community groups. Rather than simply explaining a play, our teaching artists help participants speak the language, discover the characters, make creative choices, and perform together.
No previous theatre experience is required. Curiosity is quite enough.

What to expect
Meet the play
We introduce the story, characters, and world surrounding the selected scene.
Unlock the language
Together, we make sense of unfamiliar words and uncover what the characters want.
Cast & rehearse
Participants are assigned scripts, roles, props & cosutmes, and direction from our teaching artists. They become the cast
Perform
The group shares the scene performing for—and supporting—one another.
Closing
We reflect on our experience, answer questions, and discuss take-aways.
